Ghost Story......

THE TIRED DRIVER

A Singaporean driver was driving up a Malaysian highway to visit his relatives in Kuala Lumpur. On the way, somewhere between here and Malacca, his car broke down. This was in the middle of nowhere, rubber trees everywhere. He had no idea where to turn for help and none of the vehicles whizzing by would stop. It was getting very late and the man was getting desperate. He looked hard around him to see if there were any signs of life. Then, he saw a light deep among the rubber trees. Well, there had to be someone there who could help, he thought. Fortunately there was a sort of path leading into the rubber plantation, not a clear one but at least some sort guide to the inside, so he started trudging towards the light.

As he approached the double- storey workers' wooden shack, the sort that used to be construction sites in Singapore before they were replaced by the present container-type work offices, it started to rain. The rain soon became a downpour. He got completely drenched before he reached the shack. He knocked hard to be heard above the din.

The man who came to the door was dressed in a tank top and pyjamas. The Singaporean explained his position and asked if he could use the phone. The man said, " You'd better not drive in this weather anyway, even if you could fix the car. Better just stay here tonight. Tomorrow, we'll see what we can do about the car."

The Singaporean thought this was very decent of the man. Turned out there were two other men playing cards with the one who had opened the door. They suggested that the Singaporean thanked them and climbed up the wooden stairs. He was surprised to find that the loft included among the furniture even a dressing table with a mirror, but he thought nothing more of it. He took off some of his clothes and climbed into one of the four beds there.

Sometime that night, the Singaporean woke up. He turned his head and saw a woman all dressed in white sitting at the dressing table and combing her long, long hair slowly. At some point she appeared to notice him staring at her. She put down he comb, turned to look at him and smiled. The Singaporean, not sure how to react, smiled back warmly.

Then she lifted her head off her shoulders and put it on the dressing table.

The Singaporean felt the blood chill in his veins. He tired to scream but he couldn't hear any noise coming out of his throat. The woman did not move. Her head kept smiling at him from the table.

Trembling like a leaf, he galvanised himself into action, and practically jumped down those stairs.

The three men were still calmly playing their card game. "Help, help," cried the Singaporean, "there's a woman up there with no head!"

The three men stopped playing cards and looked at him, smiling.

Then, one by one, they took off their heads and placed them on the table.

New movie...Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation is an upcoming American science fiction post-apocalyptic war film set for release on May 21, 2009. Directed by McG, it is the fourth Terminator film and stars Christian Bale as John Connor and Sam Worthington as the mysterious Terminator Marcus Wright. It also introduces a young version of the first film's hero, Kyle Reese, played by Anton Yelchin, and depicts the origins of the T-800 Model 101 Terminator, played by Ronald Kickinger. The film, set in 2018, focuses on the war between humanity and Skynet. It abandons the formula of previous entries in the series, which involved Terminators and various other characters traveling through time to kill or protect John Connor.

Premise

On May 23, 2008, Warner Bros released the following plot summary for the film. The synopsis was modified on June 11, 2008:

Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale), the man fated to be the leader of the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators, and the future he was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. John must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, John and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they find out a terrible secret that may lead to the possible annihilation of mankind.

At the beginning, John does not start off as leader of the human resistance, but will work his way through the ranks in the film. He is mistrusted by other soldiers due to his extensive knowledge of Skynet. McG said that the film will reveal the development of the Model 101 Terminator as well: scenes involve humans being captured and studied by Skynet in order to perfect their cybernetic organisms and John explaining " if we let these things go online, the war is over". Skynet captures Kyle Reese because it is aware that Reese is John's father, and uses him as a bait in an attempt to kill John.

Cast

Christine Bale as John Connor : A young soldier waging war against Skynet after it destroyed much of humanity in a nuclear holocaust, who is destined to become humanity's leader. Director McG deemed Bale "the most credible action star in the world" during development. Bale was the first person to be cast and signed on for the role in November 2007. McG talked extensively with Bale in the UK about the role while the latter was filming The Dark Knight, and they both agreed to proceed. Although a fan of the Terminator series, he was at first uninterested, until McG convinced him the story would be character-based and not rely on special effects. They kept working on the story every day, along with Worthington. McG said Bale broke his hand punching a Terminator prop during filming. Bale also spent six to eight hours each day with McG in the editing room to advise the finished product.

Sam Worthington
as Marcus Wright: A resistance soldier who is plagued by vague memories and is discovered to be a decommissioned Terminator. His last memory is of being on death row, and John is unsure of whether Wright is from the past or from the future. Terminator creator James Cameron personally recommended Worthington (whom he directed in Avatar) to McG. Russell Crowe also recommended him to McG. McG decided Worthington looked tougher than the "great many of today's [waify] young male actors". Worthington recalled Cameron told him "the Terminator to make is the one with the war". Worthington tore his intercostal muscles during the first weeks of filming, but he nevertheless insisted on performing his own stunts. McG once expressed interest in casting Daneil Day-Lewis or Josh Brolin in the part. Brolin did talk to Bale and read a draft of the screenplay, which he found "interesting and dark, but ultimately, though, I didn't think it felt right".

Anton Yelchin
as Kyle Reese : A teenage soldier and admirer of John Connor. As portrayed by Micheal Biehn in The Terminator, he was sent back in time to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor to ensure the survival of the human race, and fathered John with her. Yelchin said he wanted to portray Reese as Biehn did and not make him appear weaker because it was a younger version of the character. The difference in his portrayal lies in showing Reese as intense, but not concentrated until he joins the resistance proper. Yelchin tried to convey Reese's intensity by focusing on how fast Biehn appeared when running in the original film.

Bryce Dallas Howard
as Kate Connor : John's wife, who is seven months pregnant. Charlotte Gainsbourg was originally set to play the part, but left due to scheduling conflicts with another film. As portrayed by Caire Danes in the third film, Kate was a veterinarian; but in this film, she is now a physician. Howard suggested, as part of the character's backstory, that Kate studied medical books and interviewed many surviving doctors after the events of Judgment Day. The film's subject matter reminded her of developing countries, devastated by war and lack basic supplies such as clean water, which "reflects things that are going on currently in this privileged world that we're living in where there hasn't been an apocalypse and robots haven't taken over the world. I think that's something definitely for us to reinvestigate and that we continue to make choices for our own future to take that into consideration". Howard also focused on Kate "being accustomed to fear and loss" because the character was a military brat.

Moon Bloodgood
as Blair Williams: A "no-nonsense and battle-hardened" pilot in the resistance suffering from survivor guilt. She will apparently be a romantic interest for Marcus.

Common
as Barnes: A resistance soldier and John's right-hand man.

Helena Bonham Carter
as Serena Korgen:The lead villain of the film. Tilda Swinton was originally considered for the part, but Carter replaced her before filming. She accepted the part because her boyfriend, Tim Burton, is a Terminator fan. Her role was a "small but pivotal" one and would only require ten days of shooting. On August 22, 2008, Carter delayed filming by a day,
and was given an indefinite leave due to the death of four of her family members in a minibus accident in South Africa.

Arnold Schwarzenegger
and Ronald Kickinger as the T-800 Model 101 : The first T-800 - the first Terminator covered in living tissue that gives it a more human appearance - built by Skynet as its newest weapon for the extermination of humankind. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who portrayed the Model 101 Terminator in previous films, provides his voice, while the Austrian bodybuilder Kickinger was Schwarzenegger's double on set. Digital makeup was used to make him resemble the previous T-800 actor. Kickinger previously portrayed Schwarzenegger in a 2005 biographical film on the A&E Network. McG explained he wanted the T-800 to look like the younger Schwarzenegger in the 1984 film. When asked about his role, Kickinger said it's "Arnold's character in the first Terminator. That's basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about." Polish strongman athlete Mariusz Pudzianowaski was also considered for doubling Schwarzenegger.

Additional cast members include Brian Steele as a T-600, Jadagrace as Star, a girl in Reese's care, Chris Ashworth as Richter, Chris Browning as Morrison, Micheal Ironside as General Ashdown, the resistance leader before John, Jane Alexander as Virginia, and Terry Crews. Linda Hamilton has been confirmed to reprise her role as Sarah Connor in a voice over that opens the movie; they are from tapes Sarah recorded before her death prior to the film's events to warn John of the future war.

Online game > > Dragonica

Dragonica is an arcade-style, 3D side-scrolling Massive Multiplayer online role-playing game set in a vibrant, 3D world. It is developed by Barunson Interactive and published around the world by various publishers in different regions.

Story

The great war between gods and demons separated all living creatures into two opposing camps; one on the side of Light and one on that of Darkness. During the Great Dragon War that took place 50 years prior to the beginning of the game, the dragons themselves were also separated into two sides; one led by the Lord of all Dragons, the other by the Dark Lord, Elga, whose heart and mind had been twisted by the evil Enchantress, Paris.

As the ruler of all Dark Dragons, Elga believed in the divine right of the Stronger to hold dominion over the Weaker. Guided by his cruel cause to wrest power from the hands of "foolish" humans, he is intent on controlling all through the use of sheer power.

According to a Treaty created after the War of the Divinities (between the gods and demons), the Dark Forces will be handed dominion over half the world if Elga's forces manage a successful invasion. With the dragons unwilling to allow Elga such control over their world, they've finally devoted their forces and combined them with the force of Light, preparing for the inevitable battle against the Dark Lord's minions.

Our story begins now as the Dark Forces have taken just over a full third of the world. Your task, by agreement with the Dragon Lord himself, is to train and develop your skills as one of the foremost warriors in the lands, in hopes of defeating Elga and the Dragonoids.

As a member of the Dragonian Fellowship, you will be forging alliances with other adventurers, helping with quests and tasks as you explore the various lands, and shaping the future of Dragonica itself.

The game will also take place a few centuries before the original Star Ocean (around S.D. 10, or approximately 2097 AD).

Story

A.D 2064...Planet Earth was on the brink of destruction as clashes between the World Republic Federation and the various nations that opposed it sparked the outbreak of World War III. Weapons of mass destruction, deployed with complete impunity razed the land in the blink of an eye. The dire situation forced the two opposing factions to negotiate a cease-fire and an agreement was quickly reached, but although the war may have ended, its effects remained. With the deteriorating environment, Earth's population was drastically reduced and those who survived lived a confined existence trapped in underground cities. Eventually countries joined together to form the Greater United Nations and turned their eyes skyward, to space. With the establishment of the USTA, the Universal Science and Technology Administration, man began to seek new worlds beyond the stars.

AD 2087...The first year of the spacedate (SD) calendar. Thanks to the success of Professor Trillas Bachstein's warp drive experiments, mankind's dream of a spacebourne existence has inched closer to reality and the USTA secretly began to implement its SRF project, the Space Reconnaissance Force. The game features a real-time combat system which allows for up to four party members to remain active in battle at a time. Improvements to the game's combat system include 'Rush Mode,' where players can switch out active members of their combat groups for reserve members in real-time; 'Sight In/Sight Out' which allows for timed evasive and counter moves against enemies; and the BEAT (Battle Enhancement Attribute Type) system, through which players can change a character's fighting style at will. Other actions players will master through gameplay include piloting of the spaceship Calnus, a first in the Star Ocean series; item creation in the form of weapons, healing items and accessories; and Private Actions (PAs), a cause and effect relationship between character in-game actions and the acquisition of new abilities and scenarios. Through the increased flexibility mastery of all these skills provides, players should be able to more easily increase their team and individual team member's combat experience and status, and so unlock more advanced combat styles and linked combinations.

In this comic also contains three other short stories:
> The Person That She Likes
> Think Of You, Clavier
> Would You Like To Adopt And Raise A Beauty?

Hero...George Washington

The first president of the United States, George Washington, is often referred to as the Father of America.

He was known for his love of the land and farming, and his dislike of war. He was a distinguished general and commander in chief of the colonial armies in the American Revolution.

He married a widow, Martha Dandridge Custis, and they lived at Mount Vernon, Washington's plantation in Virginia on the Potomac River.

George Washington is one of America's greatest heroes. His honesty, courage, and physical strength make him a role model for school children anywhere.

When Washington was a child, he got a hatchet for his birthday. He went outside and chopped down one of his father's cherry trees.

When his father saw the cherry tree, he was angry. He asked his son who had chopped it down. "Father, I cannot tell a lie," George said. "I chopped down the tree."

His father was proud. George was only a young boy, but already he understood how important it was to be honest.

Another story tells how Washington threw a sliver-dollar coin across the Potomac River. Over the years, many people , including professional baseball players, have tried to do same thing.

Most have failed, and people have begun to doubt the story. They don't doubt that Washington had the strength to do it. They argue that Washington was a very careful businessman, and he would never thrown away money!

That Washington had false teeth, however, is true. In fact, they were made out of hippopotamus tusk. They fit very badly and caused Washington constant pain. Many people believe this is why Washington never smile when posing for paintings.
